Computer Recycling: Secure Asset Disposal
Our Computer Recycling Service
As with our Data Destruction Service, the Computer Disposal service offered by us is Environmentally sound. Each computer is broken down into component form. Cases are stripped bare of motherboards, memory, optical drives, add on cards and hard drives. Components are assessed for use ability. Any useful components are fully tested. Where found to be faulty or beyond re-use, they are recycled as follows:
Computer Cases and Power supplies are mainly steel. Plastics are removed and the metals recycled though our scrap metal contacts.
Computer Motherboards, add on cards, memory and all circuit boards are removed and melted down for metal extraction. Modern boards are re-used
Cables are removed and melted down for metal extraction. A percentage of cables are re-used.
Heat sinks are melted down into component alloy form through scrap metal merchants.
Processors are stripped and melted down for metals extraction. Newer processors are re-used to reduce the need for new component manufacture.
Hard Drives and storage devices: See Hard Drive recycling for the destruction of Confidential Data.
Plastics: We provide a plastics granulation service, segregating the various forms and colours and re-processing the parts into raw materials.
